Since the CBN rolled out single Biometric Identification System in 2014, Biometric Verification Number (BVN) has become a very important code in our day-to-day banking. Ensure you have your BVN at your fingertips by finding out how to check your BVN on Airtel, MTN, Glo and 9Mobile.
BVN now plays a leading role as it is now required to: Open bank accounts, withdraw cash, register for Federal schemes, get a government statutory ID, amongst other things. Your BVN is unique to you alone. You can use same number for all your transactions if required.
*IMPORTANT NOTICE: Any line/phone number used in checking BVN must also be the same you used when enrolling for the BVN in first place.
Simple steps on how to check your BVN Online on Airtel, MTN, Glo and 9Mobile with your phone
- Make sure your line is charged with at least N20
- Simply dial *565*0# on the phone. All networks actually use same code.
- This should load for a moment, once this is done BVN should pop up on your phone.
- A notification of N20 debit from your line should follow.
- That is all.
FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

Airtel, MTN, Glo and 9Mobile now run ‘borrowing’ services. Yes you can be charged from a ‘borrowed’ credit.
I tried and got an error message ‘No response’, what caused this?
Your line needs to be recharged. Your network provider could not pass the fee (N20). That is why you got the error message.
I got error message ‘Line is linked to multiple BVN’, what is the problem?
This happens when same phone number has been used to enroll for BVN by more than one person. To use this service, you have to advise the other person to go to his/her enrollment bank and change the phone number mapped to his/her BVN.
